The board takes a pragmatic approach towards conservation that is driven by stakeholders with a variety of motivations, including environmental, economic, and recreational.
SABP gets “hands-on” by deploying community volunteers with initiatives Bay Cleanup, Crab Trap Removal, and Sea Turtle Rescue. My family has been able to participate in some of these events and we’ve seen firsthand both the immediate impact to the area, and the educational impact that will pay dividends in the future as the community becomes more aware of the impact that everyday actions have on their local ecosystems.
